OK its a battery chainsaw, I really looked forward to getting this to use as a backup, (always have two saws when using a chainsaw) The big reason I like electric is you can cut a little, clean up, cut some more etc. Right off the bat when you pull the trigger on this saw it sort of winds up before you can cut, Im a little slow so that isn't a stopper. I looked online to see if others were having this issue, and some other do. I had done my cutting for the day, so I did as much cutting as I could, well the self-tightening hand clamp kept coming loose, so I spent more time cleaning so I could give it another try. Still comes loose A LOT... for a backup saw this is not good, but it would serve its function. Between the blade coming loose a LOT and the chain falling off I was not able to use all the power the 2 4 Amp battery supplied, When the saw did cut there was plenty of power. I quit as it was near the end of the day, At home in the shop I took the clamp and bar off to clean and sharpen, A typical chainsaw you remove the bar, turn it upside down, and put the chain on correctly to get more life out of the bar and chain. NOPE, the bar has a bracket that is riveted on so this is not possible It's required for the self-tightening clamp. I have a corded Sunjoe 10-inch convertible saw That I took down an entire medium size maple tree that I am very pleased with, and another Sunjoe electric 18 I like as well. I was surprised at what this chainsaw could do. The only problem I had was the chain getting loose but that might have been because it stretched or was still new. However this saw has cut through large trees and logs. So far I am able to use it full time do accomplish the work I need to do. It is worth mentioning that I also bought a Sun Joe rotertiller that has out performed itself. Maybe Sun Joe should build ATVs. I am seeing the quality in their products.

It worked great and is very versatile with the Sunjoe 24 volt batteries. I also have the Sunjoe polesaw ,inverter, air pump ,weed Wacker, and quite a few other tools. I have to say ,I'm very pleased with ALL of them. For personal jobs around the house, these tools are great. 5/04/23

I really like that this saw uses a battery instead of lugging around an extension cord or carrying a heavy gas chainsaw. It is so much more convenient. The only problem I had was when trying to cut about a 6" piece of log it kind of bound up but it was still a good saw for the money. Just be a little careful to not let the saw bind up.

I've had great experiences with the 8 inch chainsaw. I also needed one that could cut through much thicker wood. This one is ready to set up and use.
