Original Post....Great for the $240 Christmas 2022 price. Not sure I'd pay the full price that I've seen it listed elsewhere. I've always wanted a small pellet grill that can be easily moved inside my basement when not in use. You aren't going to be throwing any parties with this thing, but it is great for small groups or families. I've had it for a couple of months, and I've cooked everything from hamburgers and chicken wings to pork butt and brisket. It does it all. Great little smoker.
Started unpacking it and there was rust. Fine. They gave me a discount to encourage me to keep this pos.
Then trying to get it work has been awful , confusing and full of " take it apart" and "put back together". Then there is a weird nose, like something is in the fans. Oh, it is just the wood pellets. Round 4 of "take it apart and put back together".
Almost done with 30 minute start phase to get the grill ready to grill and... well.. NOW THE HOPPER IS ON FIRE. Awesome.
This grill sucks.
Hard to use. Hard to put together. This has been awful and still don't get to BBQ.
Maybe after the fire goes out, we can try again.
HOURS OF WASTED TIME. DO NOT BUY
The drip pan thing came rusted, totally a cosmetic issue. I brought it up to Amazon and they gave me partial refund. I emailed Cuisinart and they sent me the replacement parts free of charge, too! Winning 🏆
The inner probe is about 25° lower than what it is inside. The meat probe is accurate. I have a thermoworks smoke that I use to keep a remote eye on the grill temp and meat temps, and every cook has been a success. No issues with the pellet hopper or anything. I haven't gone any hotter than about 275°, so I can't speak for how this works as a grill, but as a smoker it's good! Briskets, pork shoulders, pork loins, pork belly, ribeye roasts, burgers, wings, and ribs!
My only complaint isn't the smoker's fault, I just wish it was a little bigger. I've fit a 17# brisket in it with no room to spare. You might be able to get 2 pork shoulders in if you're lucky. If you need more smoke flavor, buy a smoke tube to toss in with your cooks.
Overall, it's a great entry pellet smoker. Better deal than those overpriced brands.
