Like the speed it prints(32 pages per min) and the cost of the ink cartridges(about $40 to print 10,000 pages for me).

It came in a tight box, packaged right. I like everything about it except the MANUFACTURER's instructions on how to set it up was USELESSSSSSSS. I'm so happy there's this thing called YouTube where kind individuals help people by uploading videos on how to SET up printers like this one

Impressive printer for the price

This is an excellent printer. Very economical to use. Way less expensive than an inkjet printer. It is also wifi compatible so you don't have to have it hooked to computer to print.  Works with iPhone to print directly from phone.  It can be in one room and you can print from all over the house. Best investment for a solid black and white laser printer.  Toner cartridges are best purchased at Axxxxx!

easy to configure if you know what you're doing

This printer is the replacement for our previous Brother printer that I was given from my previous job, manufactured in 2004  it chugged right along for at least 10 years until the heat element died. Based on this I bought a brand spanking new one and it appears to be of the same quality as the old one (HL-1440 if you're curious) The Pro: It comes with an installation CD that was totally unnecessary for the Windows 11, 10 and 7 computers it was installed to, every one of them recognized and installed the correct drivers as soon as the USB cord was plugged in or found on the network, flawlessly and quick. Having wrestled with print drivers in the past this was a pleasant change of pace. The Cons: Only one, the quick setup guide for setting up the wireless connection is so vague that it's practically useless,  and frankly the official Brother video to do this wasn't a whole lot better. Found some dude on YouTube who did a much better job of explaining it and was able to set it up in about 10 minutes, understand that their is no computer interface to set this up, you're working with a one line LCD display on the printer itself with only Up and Down buttons to input information.  If you have a long wireless password it's quite tedious to enter this way and if you miss a digit the printer will think about it for a good 30 seconds plus before it spits out a page to tell you it could not connect. This is my first wireless printer so I have nothing to compare it to so can't really say if this is a typical issue with all of them or if it's a Brother issue. However having had to fight with network printers in the past I was overall happy with the results and from the time I opened the box to being able to print test sheets from the network, wireless and Android app was less then an hour. It can print at 600 dpi and has 32 megs of memory on board (I actually had to install additional memory to the old printer,  added a 10 Meg chip for a total of 12 we've come a long way:) which should be more than adequate for most print jobs and test sheets came out in seconds over the wireless network.  Print quality looks great, no smudging, deletions or lines, crisp sharp text and good solids. If this one performs half as well as its predecessor over the years I would call it a great deal.

Good value,  wireless setup was vague.

The smaller should write refurbished first and then continue with the description .

Factory refurbished, does not show that in the short description.  Wireless setup has not worked after five attempts.  Failed wireless setup prints a whole page of text explaining that there was an error....   I know there was an error because the software/driver failed, don't waste my toner for your errors.

Misleading title, poor driver

Drum that came in the printer has a large scratch, which prints scratch marks on every page and ruins each print.
See photos of drum scratch and resulting printing artifacts. 
Very disappointing. Walmart ought to send me a free replacement drum unit.
