This is quite a nice Garbage can. It's large, squared edges and provides plenty of room to load up with garbage before removing. The design is quite sleek and easily able to carry due to the handles on the side. These are like thin metal handles, shaped for comfort in lifting, due to the shape them. I find that a bit nice since many cans I had before never had any way to lift the trash can and port it around or to move it out of the way.

The mirror-looking appearance is nice, nothing I'm thrilled about, but it isn't too bad. Gives it a bit more of a fancy design. The black, perfect for my kitchen or any room I decide to use this in. Plus, without fear of touching the can or when I need to open the lid for a load of garbage in my hands. I can just pass my hand by the lid's sensor and it would open instantly. No more germs to spread or fear to touch the lid of a trashcan when this is automatically able to open.

However, there is a side piece that lifts if the battery runs out and if the can doesn't seem to be opening anymore. No matter, this is quite a nice trashcan, which doesn't reduce the space I have to fill it up with garbage. Sometimes, I fear the nicer the model with all these extra features, reduces the amount of space inside. For this trash can, it's not the case at all and I'm pleased about this as well as it being a step above what I'm used to!

Very nice design

Compared to my Kohler that I recently bought at Costco it looks smaller but they're the same size. A lot more compact and it's motion sensor! You will need four C batteries, super quick to install on the bottom of the lid. Only down side, it can't be under a counter (well it can if you pull the can out enough to where the sensor won't pick up the counter) otherwise the lid will remain open. When I walk by, even if I'm not throwing trash away, I wave my hand over it because it's new, also because I just love it! Definitely recommend this can! It's a 13.7G.

Definitely a buy!

I loved this trash can from the moment I took it out the box. It was easy to assemble (small head Philip screwdriver to place 4-C batteries in the battery compartment), place the drip pan in the bottom of the trash can, place trash bag through trash can ring, place the ring in the trash can. Quick and easy setup. It is very lightweight. 

I love the color (black) of the trash can. It doesn’t clash with my kitchen decor. It is the perfect size for my family. We have experienced jo problem since have began using it. It does take some getting use to as we were thinking it would instantaneously detect we are standing in front of it. But after a few seconds it does respond. Fortunately, it doesn’t randomly open if anyone is walking by it as I’m sure that would drain the battery. The ability to turn off the sensor switch on the side of the trash can has not been utilized at my home because we don’t have any reason to turn it off. I do feel it’s a great feature but if the need to turn it off is necessary. 

I previously had a flip top trash can making me have to use my hands to place items in the trash. I usually clean as I’m preparing or cooking food in my kitchen. The flip top trash can would require me to constantly wash my hands because I would have to touch the flip top in order to place trash items in it. The sensor top trash can takes all of this frustration away. Due to COVID I was already washing my hands often causing my hands to dry out very fast. 

If any spills or droppings get onto the trash can, they wipe off easily. I don’t smell any of the remnants of the trash inside because it does have a seal that doesn’t allow the smell of anything to come through the lid unlike my flip top. Fortunately, I haven’t had anything to seep through my trash bag to require the drip pan to be needed.

bought as a gift but for some reason the sensor wasnt working so we swithced out batteries. i guess you need to leave it for some time to reset and then put new batteries in to be good.

The Better Homes and Garden motion activated sensor kitchen garbage can is exactly what I was looking for.  This can has lots of upgrades.  The motion sensor works good, there is a power on/off so you do not waste the batteries and the lid stays open as long as you are near the can.  The slim profile allows the can to fit nicely next to my counter.  Very happy with the cost and quality of the kitchen garbage can.

Upgraded kitchen garbage can

First I really like the black stainless steel. Goes perfect with my black appliances. It holds more than the can it replaced so we are able to go three or four days before it needs to be emptied. There is a ring that holds your bag in so it never falls into the can and has a removable bottom plate should it need a good cleaning. I gave it four stars only because sometimes the thing is stubborn about opening. Still it is nice that it is motion sensing and if your hands are dirty you don't have to touch it. Lastly, I love the fact that it takes up so little room in my little kitchen yet holds so much.

Great trash can

This automatic trashcan doesn't seem as sturdy as it should be.
Sometimes I have to wave my hand more then twice to get it to
open. Also, it doesn't have a container inside; it only has plastic plate
will not keep leaks from trashcan from leaking on the floor.

No Touch Trashcan

Worked well for a month without any issues. The lid stopped opening by itself when I changed the trash yesterday and resetting and cleaning under the lid has done nothing. The timer light still illuminates when I try to turn it off/on, but it won't open or close the lid itself. The 6 second timer counts down if I open the lid manually, but it does not close when it hits 0. I am sad because it was a good price and matches my kitchen. The lid is also very scratched up already. Hoping I can get a replacement..

Arrived damaged and filthy

So I ordered this trashcan and was super  excited for it to be delivered... and then I take it out of the box to find out it's dented in multiple spots. I contact customer service and they tell me they'll send a replacement and then just mail the first back. Second one gets delivered... box was broken and the trashcan was dented more than the first! So I again contact customer service and they refunded me and dont worry about returning the second one which was nice of them. But at this point I'm just irritated that I have to now waste my time going to the Fedex store to drop off the stupid dented trashcan (I work nights so getting to the store can be difficult). After all this (and issues with other orders) I might just be done ordering deliveries from Walmart... at least until they stop using Fedex...
